Creating 13 Attitude of Gratitude Journals!!

An Attitude of Gratitude has served me well during my life. I’ve practiced giving gratitude big and small over the last 35 years. Gratitude for the journeys I went on. Gratitude for the changes I made in my life. Gratitude for the things that I had no matter how small or insignificant they seemed at the time.

In December 2023, I began creating a yearly journal that focuses on having an Attitude of Gratitude. I got the basic layout done along with the first round of edits and then I paused. My full time job took a lot of time and energy. I didn’t have much left to give for this project.

In November 2024, I finally had the energy I needed to finish the project. I worked on it, I realized I wanted to give people a journal that wouldn’t overwhelm them with a whole year’s worth of prompts at once. I wanted my journals to be something that they looked forward to reaching for.

Book 1 of the Attitude of Gratitude Tiny Journal Series.

The Attitude of Gratitude series are designed to help people get used to the idea of journaling on a daily basis. Each journal contains 28 daily pages, a few quotes throughout and instructions on how to use the journals. There are 13 journals in the Attitude for Gratitude series.

Each page in the journal contains the following:

  • an affirmation based on gratitude. Scientific research shows that positive affirmations can help with self-esteem, resilience, and problem-solving. They can also help people deal with negative thoughts and feelings.
  • a place to write down the list of things that you are grateful for each day. These things do not have to be huge or fancy. It could be just having a place to rest, a pet to cuddle with, or getting that task that has been bothering you for a while done
  • a place to write down the things you are looking forward to. It’s good to have events and happenings that we are excited about. It helps us to maintain a positive outlook which can rub off onto other people. Positive anticipation also causes our brains to release dopamine, a neurotransmitter that results in feelings of pleasure, satisfaction, and motivation.
  • a place to write down the things that are running through your mind. Writing down negative thoughts can provide several benefits including: reducing stress, improving mood, increasing self-awareness, gaining perspective on situations, identifying negative thought patterns, facilitating emotional processing, and allowing for a more rational approach to tackling challenges by externalizing those thoughts and feelings on paper.

Having an attiude of gratitude has changed my life for the better.
